ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Tower of Power was founded in 1968 as The Motowns. The wisely swapped names in favor of one that neatly sums up the band’s sound. While the line-up has changed through the years, TOP’s commitment to upbeat, tight funk and soul is unwavering. Among their best known tracks are “What is Hip” and “So Very Hard to Go.”

Average White Band‘s legacy was secured when they recorded their 1974 hit “Pick Up the Pieces.” Featured in everything from “Bowfinger” to “Iron Man 2,” it’s one of the most instantly recognizable instrumentals in the history of pop music.
